Ventura County Superior Court Judge Uncontested Incumbents
Incumbent judges of the Superior Court who have declared for retention and running unopposed retain their seats without appearing on the March 3rd or November 3rd ballots--they are automatically re-elected. This is spelled out in the California State Constitution (Article VI, Section 16[b]).
We post this information on each as a matter of public information. When there is a mid-term vacancy the Governor appoints their replacement. Each judge serves a six-year term except when completing a vacated seat by appointment. The filing deadline (now passed) for candidates to contest an incumbent judge was December 6, 2019.
