Lauren Gill On the Issues
Issue statements by candidates are quoted from public media statements either direct or edited for brevity.
Individual student support
Every child has a unique set of promises and challenges. I will push for programs that celebrate the value and honor the individual abilities and needs of every learner.
Preparation for work/life success after graduation
Life success is the goal, and schools open the way to fulfilling post-graduation possibilities for all. I will keep my focus on programs at every grade level that reinforce students’ promise, enable students’ exploration of career/life possibilities, and support students on their chosen pathways toward fulfillment in life and livelihood.
A fiscally resilient, community based district
I will do the work required to come prepared to budget discussions able to offer insightful guidance on stewarding our resources. As such I intend to be your advocate for full and fair funding in dealing with state and federal officials. We need legislation that offers resources and flexibility for districts like ours. I will work collaboratively with the Thousand Oaks City Council and Conejo Recreation and Park District as well as other local agencies and non-profits in support of all families.
